  • loli (katakana ロリ romaji rori) and lolicon (portmanteau of "Lolita complex" katakana ロリコン romaji rorikon) — The terms are a reference to Vladimir NABOKOV's book Lolita, in which a middle-age man becomes sexually obsessed with a twelve-year-old girl.

    The Japanese definition is usually for girl prepubescent to a couple years into post-pubescent (9-14 years was the age the protagonist of Lolita was infatuated). A lolicon is someone obsessed with lolis. Note: A loli may be of visual appearance so women older than age listed with youthful characteristics may fall under this term.
